Big News

So, I don’t have a workout or a recipe for you. BUT, I do have something exciting to tell you….

Baby ASee, the reason I haven’t been blogging as much is because I’ve had crazy morning sickness. FYI: Morning sickness isn’t confined to the morning. It is all.day.long. But that’s totally fine, because in October we get a baby.

Baby A UltrasoundDave & I couldn’t be happier! Ob & Marley are going to need some convincing…

big siblingsBut we’re sure they will come around to the idea.

I’m done with the first trimester and as of last week, I seem to be turning a corner and feeling much better. Praise Jesus!

I’m going to try very hard to not make this blog ‘baby central.’ Now that I have some energy back I’m looking forward to blogging about food and fitness again (← I’m typing this with a chocolate chip cookie in hand, so really I make no promises about the ‘fitness’ thang).

    • Cheers with a water glass! πŸ™‚ Thanks, Kate! Can’t wait to see you soon at Blend!

  3. Yay congrats!!!

I have to say – I had a sneaking suspicion — but I didn’t want to call you out on it. Lol!

Isn’t the first trimester killer?? It’s almost as torturous as those last few weeks (nothing beats those though – it’s like time stands still). I’m glad to hear you are getting over the hump though. I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy!!

    • Michelle, I almost reached out to you a few weeks ago! I figured you might guess and I wanted to vent to another pregnant bloggin’ pal about not being able to run and feeling so sick. Your posts have inspired me more than you know! πŸ™‚ I love reading your blog for encouragement and motivation.

  4. CONGRATULATIONS ASHLEY!!!! That is super exciting. I thought something was up a few weeks ago when you said you weren’t feeling good and weren’t blogging that much – the same thing happened to me with my pregnancy. I felt like crap all day long for the whole 1st trimester. . . but it gets better. πŸ™‚ And I love reading your blog, so even if it turns into a “baby blog” – I am still reading! πŸ™‚

    • You’re the best, Katie! Thank you so much for the words of encouragement. I was actually surprised when nobody guessed it right off the bat when I stopped running. Points for you for being so intuitive! πŸ˜‰

  5. Oh my goodness CONGRATULATIONS! That is so exciting!!!

    • Thanks, Sara! Excited to see you soon at Blend! Less than 2 months! πŸ™‚

    • haha, we are hoping they adjust to the new baby with no problems. Our lab is laid back and easy going, but our Vizsla is clingy and we’re a little worried she’s going to be jealous. We may have to actually buy her a squirrel to help her cope! LOL

  6. OMG! Congratulations!!! I’ve never even met you and am SO excited for you!!!! πŸ™‚ Blessings on your new little one!

    • This comment totally made me smile, Ariana. Thank you!

  7. Congratulations!!!

    • Thank you, Allie! πŸ™‚

  9. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!!!!!!!

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited for you guys. It’s the best. Hands down. The absolute best!!

    My first thought:
“Holy crapsies, they are going to have the cutest little one ever!!”
    My second thought:
“SA-WEEEEEEET, she is going to be chubbers in St A! And I can stop doing so many damn crunchies!” πŸ˜‰ I kid (no I don’t), YES I DO (not really).
Ashley I am so so happy for you. Prepare for the most amazing life changing journey ever.
(P.S.–because this comment isn’t long enough–I need an MRI on my hip so I too am not running, but for a crappy (not adorable) reason!!) hooray.

    • HAHA, Amy I’m so glad that cats out of the bag and you know. And lez be honest…I won’t be chubbers in St. A….I’ll be a flippin’ beached whale. I’ll be about to POP so I’ll be the one in the beach cover up for sure. πŸ™‚

And I’m so sorry about your hip! I’m bummed for you. πŸ™ I would listen to your doctor and get the rest your body needs to recover. In the meantime, do exercises that don’t bother your injury. And if it helps, just think of me down here in Florida…living at the beach with a growing belly…cookie and pickles in hand…surrounded by all these bikini wearin’ chicks. πŸ˜‰ Its going to be a loooong summer. But I think this baby is going to be totally worth it. I think this kid is pretty darn cool already.

      • Oh Ashley…beached whale is at least cute, when you live at the beach πŸ™‚ I myself always got a dishplate face and cankles with each of my 4 blessings. So worth it, so very very worth it. I think you hit the jackpot with Dave, from the sounds of it. I remember Ian being SO confused when 2 days after my 1st positive pregnancy test I was on the couch, sick AND tired!! He was all “Wha?? ALREADY!” Yeah…it took until pregnancy #3 and #4 before he really believed that the FIRST trimester was almost as hard as the last month of pregnancy! So thumbs up to your sweet caretaker, Dave!! P.S. I will totes buy a tankini with a skirt to wear at St A…you know, so we BOTH look AWE-some!! πŸ˜‰

  11. YAY! I had my daughter in October 2012, and it’s a great month for babies πŸ™‚

Hang in there. The morning (all-day) sickness SUCKED but eventually it gave way to other fun like heartburn and rib pain. No, but seriously…it’s awesome. Hope you enjoy every moment!
