Chef Dave
I came home from work tonight to find Dave hard at work in the kitchen.
Say whaaaat?
I do most of the cooking around these parts, which is fine since I actually enjoy cooking, but OMG! It was so nice to come home from work and not have to think about dinner. I knew Dave was a grill master, but I realized tonight he’s been holding out on me with his stove top skills! He made a curry dish that was delicious. He grilled chicken, sauteed lots of veggies in some thai curry sauce and served it all up over rice.
I didn’t snap a photo of the final product since I was still in shock starving. Sorry. I keep waiting for him to tell me Ob & Marley ate my favorite pair of Jimmy Choos or Manolos, but so far it appears he just cooked dinner because he wanted me to have a relaxing night. I would say we have a keeper, folks!
Right before we sat down to eat, I got another fabulous surprise! My mom dropped by and decided to join us for dinner (at this point, I thought maybe they were staging some sort of intervention).
My mom and I are very close, and I loved getting to chat with her over a meal (that I didn’t have to cook). We talked about taxes and life insurance. I know, your Friday night probably wasn’t nearly as lively. Not everyone can party like us.
I don’t particularly love living in Jacksonville, but I love living in the same city as my mom. She is one of my best friends and I’m lucky I can see her so frequently.
Now, I’m curled up on the couch getting ready to watch Taken 2 with Dave. I don’t usually like scary action packed movies, but he’s been wanting to see this movie for a while so I finally agreed to watch it after he asked tonight.
…And I just figured out why I got a home cooked meal tonight…
I’m hoping to squeeze in a 10 mile run tomorrow so I’m going to drink more water and probably be in bed before 11.
It has been a terrific Friday night, filled with good food and a few of my favorite people and pups! I wouldn’t trade nights like this for the world.
I hope your weekend is off to a great start! See you party people tomorrow!

I spent my Friday night making myself a veggie pizza and I was in bed by 10! I think yours was better! Hope the run went well!

He is for sure a keeper!
the most I get out of my husband is a bowl of cereal or a turkey and cheese sandwich! Although I can’t complain too much… He usually does all the clean up after I make dinner!!
