Cream Cheese Brownie Cookies
Facebook is killing it with their advertisements. It is like they have a person who lives inside my mind and knows exactly what I want. Lately when I check out the social media site I am inundated with Tory Burch, Neiman Marcus and Kate Spade ads in addition to a million food advertisements. I think the Facebook people can see what I look at on my computer and then they plan their ads on my homepage accordingly. Sneaky little tech nerds trying to kill my budget one advertisement at a time.
Recently, this recipe popped up on my Facebook newsfeed. When I saw the ingredients list, I immediately snapped a screen shot of the recipe because I somehow ended up with a random block of cream cheese in my fridge and this recipe called for cream cheese.
I made a batch of the cookies on a whim last night because I’m leaving for Florida next week and Heaven forbid I leave a block of cream cheese unused in the fridge.
These were – without a doubt – the best chocolate cookies I have ever made. Ever. In my life. They tasted like a brownie, but with the texture of a soft chewy cookie. If there was a way I could send you all a batch of these, I would.
I omitted the frosting because I didn’t have any on hand and I didn’t have any patience to make a batch from scratch. I didn’t feel like they were missing anything though. They were perfect in their frosting-less state. If I was going to frost them though, I wouldn’t use a can of frosting. I would make my own and I would make it with peanut butter. But that’s just me. You can do whatever floats your boat.
To my mom and sisters: Eat your vegetables and run your hearts out now because a few batches of these will be made while I’m in Florida next week! 😉
And on that note, Atlas and I are off to the gym. I’m thinking as delicious as these cookies were, they may not have been the best fuel for my hill sprints today.
