Friday Favorites

It’s Friday, which means it is time to link up with Katie for another edition of Friday Favorites!

Fri_Favs_thumbAs always, you can play along by listing some of your favorite things in the comments below or if you’re a blogger, be sure to write a quick post detailing little things you loved this week and link up on Katie’s blog to get in on the fun! 🙂

faves1. Impulse buy at the grocery store. Tasted like summertime.

2. New hand cream. Smells like flowers. And the south. Southern flowers a.k.a home. I want to bathe in it.

3. I consider sleeping an actual hobby, so this is like the necessary gear needed for me to do my hobby. Awesomeness.

4. Another impulse buy. I just love the name. “Next to Godliness.” So witty. Do you get it? You know…the old saying… “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.” And this is hand soap. Are you there yet? I just think that is the funniest thing.

Also, #3 might be starting to kick in.

DSC_14605. A ‘just because’ gift Dave hid in the microwave before he left for work. ♥ I love the extra love. It came with the sweetest card and it was just the encouragement I needed to make it through the week.

DSC_14616. Another thing encouraging me this week. I bet if you read it, it will make your favorites list next week.

7.  Atlas & I got to visit my former boss and her daughter who were in NYC this week. Familiar faces are always a favorite! They were celebrating her daughter’s birthday at the American Girl store. The American Girl store is my new favorite store.

Did anyone else out there have an American Girl doll when they were little? I had the Samantha doll. Correction: I still have her. She’s in the attic at my mom’s house. I’m hoping 1 day I’ll have a little girl to pass my Samantha doll onto. If I had visited the American Girl store when I was 14 9 I would have lost.my.mind. You can get the doll’s ears pierced. I can’t even handle the cuteness. Of course, I’ll have 3 boys. I’m okay with that though. I could have more babies just like Atlas.

…rabbit trail over…

  1. Oh my… that last picture of the two of them is too stinking cute!

On the American Girl doll note – I had one of the custom dolls you could get to look like you (since none of the AG dolls at that time had brown skin and green eyes. Maybe there is one now?) and her name was Hannah and I adored her. My grandmother even sewed her a ton of outfits which my mom just found the other day. I am having a little girl in June so I hope I can pass them along to her one day!

    Have a great weekend. 🙂

    • omg – I don’t know what I love more…the fact that you too kept your custom doll OR the fact that your sweet grandmother sewed her outfits. How cute! I hope your pregnancy is going smoothly. I bet you can’t wait for the day when you can introduce your daughter to Hannah. If you ever find yourself in NYC at the American Girl store, let me know! 😉 Enjoy your weekend, friend!

  2. Oh Ashley – that pic of your boys. Wow. heart melting! And the fact that Dave hid that present in the microwave – so cute! Thanks for linking up and happy Friday!!

    • I love linking up with you on Fridays! It is one of my favorite things to write! 🙂

  3. That last picture!!!! SO CUTE. So cute.

I definitely had an American girl! I had Molly! All my sisters had one too, we each had one, so that is fun! 🙂

    Happy friday <3

    • omg – How adorable that you and all your sisters had one! That makes me want to have 2 girls close in age so they can have American girl dolls and play together!

  4. Is that soap from Trader Joe’s?! If so, we have it and it is amazing!

The picture of Atlas and Dave is so precious and hysterical all at once! 🙂
