Fun on the Farm
On Monday we all piled in the car after breakfast and headed to Yahoo Farms, a local farm and pumpkin patch, to start Atlas’ birthday week on a super fun note.
I told Dave when we got home that I definitely came out of the gate strong this year for Atlas’ birthday week. Atlas is obsessed with tractors (if you follow me on Instagram, then I’m sure you have seen lots of videos on the IG stories of him riding his little green tractor) and this farm did not disappoint. There were tractors everywhere and my boy was in Heaven.
I’m not quite sure how the rest of our activities for the week will stack up to the hay ride Atlas got to go on yesterday. And yes – we are celebrating his birthday all week long because…well…why not? 😉
Yahoo Farms is such an adorable farm and one I would highly recommend visiting if you live in the Atlanta area and are looking for a pumpkin patch to visit with your kids. It is about an hour north of Atlanta, and although I’m sure it gets crowded on the weekends, it was absolutely perfect on a weekday. They had hay rides, pony rides, a bounce house, a corn maze, animals to feed, a little pumpkin wagon for kids (pictured above) and more. Our neighbor recommended it to us and she was spot-on! It is perfect for small kids and the staff was so friendly!
The views were so pretty & I bet they will be even prettier in a few weeks when the leaves change.
The kids had a blast. Atlas rode a pony named Pumpkin and although he enjoyed his pony ride, when I asked him what he would like to do again he said he wanted to ride the tractor again (aka, the hay ride). He has a 1 track mind.
Also, I’m pretty sure the kids need a trampoline after watching them jump in the bounce house for 30 minutes straight.
They jumped and laughed their little heads off in that thing. Atlas would bounce Andi Rose so high and she thought it was the best thing ever. It totally brought back memories for me from my own childhood when I would jump on the trampoline with my friends and we would play the game ‘popcorn.’ Did anybody else ever play that? Where one person has to hold their knees and the other people bounce them and try to ‘pop’ them. Seriously – typing that out and I’m thinking, “How did we never break a bone on that thing?”
We rounded out our afternoon at the farm with some ice cream and a pumpkin roll stuffed with cream cheese (it was as good as it sounds) before heading home to let Andi Rose nap.
A fun time was had by all! And now today is my last day having a 2 year old boy! I cannot believe my little man turns 3 tomorrow!
And for those of you who are like, “Does she seriously wear that hat all the time?” The answer is, “Pretty much.” I love it because it matches everything and it hides my face (my face has broken out so bad the last 2 weeks so I’m skipping the make-up lately and just wearing a ball cap to let my skin breathe). The gray is sold out, but they still have it in black and tan. I’m eyeing the black one. Also, I have this leopard beanie and I wore the heck out of it last winter in NYC and every time I wore it somebody would stop me on the street and ask me where it was from. It sold out last year, but it is back in stock if any of you are interested! 🙂
