Gifts for the Fitness Freak
So, I have this weird quirk. I hate checking my mail. I might check my mailbox once a week. I pass my mailbox at the end of my driveway multiple times each day, but rather than open it and see what is inside I usually pretend it doesn’t exist. Sometimes I’ll sneak a peak and grab the latest issue of In Style Magazine out of its depths before shoving it closed, lest an electric bill jump out and into my arms. I tend to check the mail a little more religiously during December (Christmas cards) and April (Birthday money), but for the most part I avoid contact as much as possible. Every once in a blue moon though, I get something really exciting via mail and I’m encouraged to check the mail more often. Last week, I received my Zooma race package!
I’m running the Zooma Florida half marathon in January and I got my shirt and some other fun goodies in the mail. Just an FYI, the shirt doesn’t say “Ugh.” It says “Laugh.” It would be hilarious if it said “Ugh” though. Sometimes when I’m putting on my running shoes that is exactly what is going through my head. Uuuuggh. Anyways, this package motivated me to complete a longer run this weekend…
And after my long run, I did what any good runner would do; I hydrated…
And then I spent the rest of my weekend cleaning out my closet (OMG – so much worse than checking the mail) and playing at the park with Dave, Ob & Marley. I think Ob is trying out for the Reindeer team this year.
And now for some Holiday fun! With Christmas only 15 days away, all conversations seem to be centered around gift giving. Dave & I put together a list of some of our favorite fitness items that you may like for either yourself or the fitness freak in your life! If you’re stumped on what to get that weirdo runner in your life, check out some of our ideas.
