Happy 1st Birthday, Andi Rose!

Our sweet Andi Rose turns 1 today! I figured there’s no better way to kick off her birthday celebration than with a cheesy birthday poem. If you’re a long time reader, than you know cheesy birthday poems are my favorite!

1

This time last year, I was waiting on you.
As far as what to expect, I already knew.
You were my second baby, so I was a pro.
At least that’s what I thought – little did I know.

Birthday Poem

You arrived early, you’re never one to miss out.
You were ready to party, of this I have no doubt.
I’ll never forget when the doctor placed you on my chest.
That moment – when I saw your face – was simply the best!

I knew right away you were different from your brother.
I could tell one of these humans was not like the other.
But what surprised me the most, was how my heart grew.
Turns out, there was room in my heart for Atlas and you!

You were the sweetest newborn I ever did see,
For a moment, you actually made me want baby #3.
You would snuggle and smile and go with the flow,
I thought, “She’s perfect – she even has that angelic glow!”

15 day old Andi - 1

But one day you decided you needed to be heard,
You made your presence known without saying a word.
You started walking the first chance you got,
When it comes to energy, you have a lot!

Andi Rose Birthday

You are independent – to nobody you cling.
Everyone says you’re such a ‘feisty little thing.’
You are my second child, so I don’t jump when you make a sound.
I’m embarrassed to say how many things you’ve eaten off the ground.
You are not my first baby, but there’s a good chance you’re my last.
I find myself in tears because our time together is going by so fast.

birthday poem

The hugs you give are my favorite thing ever,
In those moments, I want you to be my baby forever.

birthday poem for Andi

With each day that passes you look more like your daddy.
He’s praying hard you’ll one day want to be his caddie.
My prayer is that with thankfulness you would overflow*,
That you will love Jesus and be a light wherever you go.

Birthday Poem

Oh, & I’m praying you learn to love more than just bread.
It’s funny to think, “I’ll never tolerate a picky eater” is what I once said.
You have already proven that you are incredibly smart.
Each day I pray for wisdom in my role of shaping your heart.
I know for you – my little adventurer – God has such magnificent plans,
I pray His favor upon you and that He would establish the work of your hands.*

Andi Rose 7 Months

I hope that you grow up with both roots and wings,
I pray that it is for His glory that your heart sings.
I pray that you and your brother start to get along soon,
Your fighting usually makes me want to drink before noon.

Merry Christmas

Gone are the days where you go with the flow,
It’s obvious that you are now running this show.
It has definitely been a challenging year – being a mom of two,
But Oh! How worth it, it has been to have precious little you!

Family of 4

On this day last year, our family was missing something, but God always knows,
He knew what our family needed was you – our sassy little Miss Andi Rose.
I love you so much more than words in this poem could convey,
So, my sweet girl, I’ll just close with a big ole’, “Happy Birthday!”

*Colossians 2:6-7: So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

*Ps 90:17: May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us. Yes, establish the work of our hands!
