Holy Hamstrings!

Holy Hamstrings! Remember that leg workout I did Wednesday? Do you recall me saying that it wasn’t ‘crazy hard’ for me? Yeah…so, um…I’m going to need to remove that from the record. I honestly didn’t have a super tough time going through that workout, but my legs are so flippin’ sore today. I woke up this morning and before I even got out of bed, I moaned because my legs hurt. So, I did the practical thing. I got up and put on my running shoes because running makes everything better, right?

Since I didn’t workout yesterday, I woke up feeling antsy and ready to hit the pavement – sore legs and all! It took me a good mile to get my legs warmed up though. Luckily, I had Dave & Ob tag along to keep me motivated.

Sore Legs1

Surprisingly, my legs felt better after we finished. We completed 5 miles before it was time to shower and head off to work.

Thanks to all those projects I’ve been tasked with at work, today flew by. I’m never too busy to snack though, so before lunch I has some pomegranate arils.

And after lunch (which was broccoli and tortellini, by the way) I had some of the best hummus of my life.

Man – that stuff was good! It had a little bit of a kick to it, which was perfect since I love spicy food, and I’m pretty sure it had chunks of jalapenos in it. I can’t be sure though, because I inhaled it so quickly I didn’t take time to savor the texture and flavor. If you like spicy things and hummus, I highly recommend this Southwest flavor!

Now, I’m officially home for the evening after a 2 mile walk with Dave and the dogs so we are about to grill some chicken (for him), shrimp (for me) and veggies for dinner. I’m thinking I’m going to make a funfetti cake too because….well, it is Friday…and funfetti cake is the jam. After dinner, we are going to watch The Odd Life of Timothy Green. The conversation leading to that decision went something like this…

Me: I want to watch the Odd Life of Timothy Green tonight.

Dave: Okay, but I want to see the preview first.

Me: That’s fine. You can watch the preview…and then you can press play & watch the movie with me.

Boom. That’s how it goes down in this house. ha – Dave is reading this and wondering how he got so lucky rolling his eyes.

  1. Funfetti cake… oh man feel free to eat a slice (or two) for me 🙂

  2. Love the pup picture! Good job getting out there even though your legs were sore, I am sure they are thanking you and you aren’t so antsy any more!
