New Year Circuit Workout
I came home from work tonight to complete my first circuit workout of 2013. Nothing like getting around to that 8 days into the New Year, right? Better late than never!
After being sick for a week, I was craving a workout that would challenge my muscles and get my heart rate up. I searched Pinterest last night for inspiration and after getting some motivation, I created this workout…
Since it was my first workout of the New Year, I decided to do 20 reps of 13 exercises in honor of 2013. I did 2 rounds of this circuit before doing a few other random exercises (i.e. dead lifts, jump rope, overhead tricep extensions, etc). 20 burpees is no joke. I prefer reps of 10. Actually, if we’re talking preferences, I prefer cake and wine.
I did 2 exercises tonight, which haven’t made a debut on the blog yet. Lying windmills + stability ball pikes. I haven’t done either exercise in a while, so both were challenging for me.
It was also challenging trying to workout with these 2 little buggers trying to entice me to play.
Actually, Marley has no desire to play. He just wants to lay on my yoga mat. Not next to my mat. Not in front of my mat. On.my.mat. Ob doesn’t care to lay on my mat, but she thinks when I lay down to do….say…a pushup, then it is time to lick my face off or play a game of fetch. She will bring me sticks, toys and even the occasional lizard. True story: the last time she brought me a lizard while I was doing crunches, I screamed so loud she got scared and ran backwards…straight into the pool. Funniest moment of my life. She hasn’t brought me a lizard since. I’m not sure who was more traumatized by that experience. She hates the pool, but I really hate lizards.
I just finished some veggie fried quinoa for dinner and now I think it is time I shower, considering I’ve been done with my workout for 2 hours. I’m hoping to make personal hygiene a priority in 2013.
Dave is happy about this.
Question of the night: What workouts are you hoping to do more of this year?
I’m hoping to get back into spinning and hot yoga after I run Zooma! I miss those workouts!

Nola and Ob would totally be best friends! That workout sounds awesome, though I am sure my body would be paying for it later. I need to intensify my workouts this year-run more, lift more. We will see how that goes
So even though I’ve only been reading your blog for a little bit (like a week or two, Ha Ha).. I swear we were separated at birth. I too forget to shower right after a workout from time to time. Hey it happens.
