Twas the Day Before Christmas…
Twas the morning before Christmas and we woke to a yard covered in snow,
I laced up my shoes and headed out for a run that was nice and slow.
Nothing like 18 degrees to wake you up quick,
It wasn’t an easy run because the roads were slick.
This southern girl kept it at a 9 minute pace,
I wasn’t a fan of the snow hitting my face.
3.5 miles later I was frozen and done,
That’s when Dave said it was time for some fun!
We grabbed our snow tubes and headed for a steep hill,
It was my first time sledding and it was quite a big thrill.
I owned that sledding hill – I rode it with a crazy whirl.
Just kidding – I screamed the whole time like a little girl.
After the presents were wrapped and placed under the tree,
It was time for a long snowy hike with Ob & Marley.
The snow didn’t phase them – they ran and they played.
Cook Forest is in the top favorite places they’ve stayed.
Later, dinner was devoured and then Georgia candy was made,
I won’t be stepping on a scale anytime soon to get weighed.
Atlas got time with his grandparents while I got time to write,
I’m pretty sure the boy loves his grandmas – they are such a delight.
My baby boy is now sleeping peacefully, which makes all the world seem right.
So now seems like a good time to say “Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!”
