Watering Holes

This morning started bright dark and early with a run! Ob & I awoke shortly before 7am (& yes, it was still dark – these shorter days are killing me!) and set out to run 1 of my favorite running routes. The reason today’s route is 1 of my favorites is because it has a (clean) water fountain that I can hit up twice during my run.

The tiny water fountain to the left is for dogs. Isn’t that so awesome? This water fountain is a popular stop for runners/walkers in the area and I love running into familiar faces around this ‘watering hole.’ The water fountain belongs to a church and this sign is featured at the foot of the fountain…

I think this plaque is one of the most creative things I’ve ever seen from a church. The Marketing nerd in me (Marketing was my degree) adores this sign. And it is true – regardless of how much I drink at this fountain, all I can think about 15 minutes later is making it home to a nice cold bottle of water.

I ran 7 miles with Ob and then I dropped her off, guzzled some water (I wasn’t kidding about being thirsty again) and headed back out to run a little longer. In the end, I completed slightly more than 8 miles.

Between the water and Ob’s smiling face, I would call today’s run a good one! 🙂

With my run behind me, I’m now ready for the weekend! I’m about to head to my local YMCA where I will be spending the majority of the next 3 days taking a class to prep me for my ACSM certification.

I’m so excited to learn more about a subject that interest me so much! I’m sure I’ll have lots of fun facts to share with you throughout the weekend and I’m excited to share what I learn through this process.

If 24 hours of ACSM training doesn’t interest you then maybe this little tid bit will float your boat. I also have tickets to see Zac Brown Band tonight in concert and I’m crazy excited about that! Color me ecstatic!

Alright, I’ve got nothing else – if Zac Brown Band doesn’t tickle your fancy then this probably isn’t the blog for you. 🙂

  1. I love any running route that has water for the dog!!! Good luck at your class! I am in a conference right now too for medical dermatology.
