ZOOMA Half Marathon Playlist

Hola Amigos!

Can I just start this post by saying I wish every Monday was a holiday? I love Sundays SO much more when I don’t have to work on Monday. Yesterday was filled with a whole lot of nothing and it was glorious. We did manage to get out to the dog park for about 2 hours and that made 1 yellow lab pretty darn happy.

This morning was spent doing family stuff and running errands. After a quick lunch (smoothie for me, pizza for Dave), we went to Publix to get groceries for the week (on the weekly dinner menu: Thai turkey burgers, pesto tortellini with lots of veggies, quinoa salad, grilled shrimp and corn on the cob) and then we started entertaining the idea of working out. Typically, if I don’t workout before noon it isn’t happening for me. I lose my mojo after lunch. However, after discussing the possibility of running or doing a circuit workout with Dave for LITERALLY 45 minutes (we got bit by the indecisive bug), I decided going for a run would be less painful than talking about it any longer so we grabbed our iPods and headed out the door to complete a short 3 mile run.

Once I put in my headphones, I actually got excited about a short run b/c I wanted to listen to some of my playlist from Saturday’s half marathon. My playlist was so fun and upbeat so I wanted to be sure to share it with you guys, in case you were looking for some good workout tunes!

After our 3 mile run today, we got a boost of energy (don’t you love how that works?) so we headed outside to complete a killer core workout together. Even though it was tough getting motivated today, I’m glad I was able to get out and sweat and feel the burn in my muscles. I never regret a workout!

I also don’t regret eating this 2.5 seconds after I finished doing a million sit-ups with Dave.

2 cookies + buttercream frosting + sprinkles = best post workout snack ever (obviously, I’m not a nutritionist)

And now it is time to curl up on the couch and enjoy what’s left of this holiday. We are going to watch Taken 2. Ob is all ready to hide behind her monkey during the scary parts.

  1. thx so much for posting that playlist! right now my phone is just a jumbled mix of songs (every morning i tell myself i’m fine to work out to pandora, then i’m like: wow – these commercials are really slowing my roll lol)… i need to organize my library into some good playlists (and add some of those songs!) because when i switch over to my music i’m constantly pressing forward or back to skip the random slow songs!

  2. OMG those pictures are so so so adorable – they both made me smile – thank you!!! So true that you never regret a workout, although it might take you a while to actually get up the energy to do it! And that cookie looks delicious. . . I think it looks like the perfect post- run snack. 😉

    Couldn’t focus after that.
    My mind was all:
    “Dog park…COOKIE…run…COOOKKKKIEEE….circ-COOKIIIIIIIIEEE”

  4. I LOVE the picture of OB! So cute! I’m trying to be better this year so I’m trying to pattern myself after you. You seem to have it together. I know I should take baby steps so….Today I started with the cookie and I’ll move forward from there tomorrow. Great blog!!

  5. Great playlist! I have not been running with music but now that it is winter and I am indoors, I like having new songs to take me through my runs. I’ve heard great things about the Zooma run. Can’t wait to see where it is in the midwest this year!
